TBAS is founded on the growing need for quality ABA services in the Middle Tennessee area. Our passion is to improve the quality of life of the individuals we serve and, in turn, improve our community as a whole.
All TBAS services are consistent with the ethical and professional guidelines published by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (www.bacb.com).
1) Behavior is behavior. Regardless of age, race, gender, disability, etc., all of our clients are capable of learning new behavior and progressing toward achieving goals that will increase the quality of life.
We strive to create an environment where constant progress can be made. No learner will ever “plateau” in our eyes; there is always something that we can change about the environment or how we as technicians present challenges to our learners.
2) We treat learners with dignity & respect. Compliance is important, however people are allowed to feel emotions. Individuals are allowed to be angry, sad, frustrated, etc. We strive to realize the full potential of all of our learners by acknowledging and empathizing emotion while working together to encourage healthy and appropriate ways to experience these emotions.
We focus on balancing what is most beneficial to our learners’ safety and ability to function in everyday life while remaining within the boundaries of what our learners and families are agreeable with. Culture and choice are important factors that we always take into consideration.
3) Feedback is essential. We strive to create an environment where everyone can improve. That includes professionals providing feedback to learners and their families but just as important: we seek out feedback from learners and families on how we are performing and what we can do differently to provide the most beneficial services possible.
We value the ideas and input of our learners, families, and team members. We are in a constant state of learning, growing, and assessing our own skills for the benefit of our learners.
4) Individualized treatment is essential. All treatment plans, behavior plans, goals, trainings, etc. will be developed based on individual strengths, needs, and family goals in order to provide the most beneficial services possible.
When you are dedicated to providing a high level of service to your child, we owe it to them to provide services that truly focus on them; we take time to complete assessments and observations of quality that will actually benefit learners directly, as opposed to simply checking a box and placing your learner into a category.
